Biking spearfish canyon - The drive begins at Exit 10 or Exit 14 off Interstate 90 in Spearfish MT or from the other direction at Cheyenne Crossing outside of Lead at the intersection of Highway 85. The trail is unmarked however just a few miles past Bridal Veil Falls you will see a large pullout parking area just before the Iron Creek bridge. The trail is now 52 miles with recent additions. The overlook is perched at the top of the canyon above the town of Savoy. Spearfish is wonderful town situated in the northern Black Hills. For our ride we parked our car on South Canyon Street in a shady combination park campground and fish hatchery populated by many picnickers and joggers. This is a great little trail that winds through the town of Spearfish. The Spearfish Canyon Floor Trail features a slightly larger waterfall with informative signs about the plant life youll see. The other goal of the SPA was to construct the path with minimal use of tax money. Spearfish is a delightful town with a well-preserved center filled with historic buildings.

The area is beautiful in every season. There are numerous trails some waterfalls gorgeous scenery and the world famous drive through the canyon. These bikes have great grip. Reserve one of our bicycle rentals for a day or half of a day riding the Black Hills trails. This trail is fun and beautiful in the fall. Bicycling Winter Sports Landscape-Recreation Biking and Jogging The Byway accommodates a designated 4-wide shoulder on both sides of the 13-mile roadway from Spearfish to Savoy for biking and jogging activities. The trail isnt overly scenic but it is interesting to follow in the footsteps of those adventurous pioneers seeking their fortune. Iron Creek Trail is one of the most unique and simple trails in Spearfish Canyon. Snowshoes and Fat tire bikes are also available - we have you covered no matter the season or your level of experience. This ride leaves from the edge of town and meanders up the canyon on the dedicated shoulder of highway 14a through Spearfish Canyon.
